Tip: To prevent future clogs, avoid flushing non-flushable items like wipes, feminine hygiene products, or excessive amounts of toilet paper.
Before requesting maintenance services, find the thermostat control in your home. Check that it is powered on and set to heat. If your thermostat will not turn on, check if it requires batteries and replace them with the designated battery type.
Find the circuit breaker in your home. Look for a switch which is in the center position instead of the on or off side. Flip that switch to off and then back to on again. Check if your electrical systems are working now.
If your home has a garbage disposal system, use a wooden spoon to dislodge any potential clog. Do not stick your hand down the drain. Beneath your sink, press the reset button on the garbage disposal unit. This should reactivate your garbage disposal system.
